Milan Jovanovic hopes his latest goal for Liverpool will help him break into Roy Hodgson's plans.

Striker targets more game time at Anfield

Milan Jovanovic hopes scoring the goal that secured Liverpool's passage into the last 32 of the Europa League will help him break into Roy Hodgson's plans. The Serbian striker was on target for the Reds as they clinched a 1-1 draw against Steaua Bucharest on Thursday night, marking his second goal since his arrival on Merseyside from Standard Liege in the summer. And the 29-year-old, whose run-out on Thursday marked his first since the beginning of November, hopes he can now continue making an impact for the remainder of the season. "I was really satisfied with the goal and it was very important for us," Jovanovic told Liverpool's official website.

Patient

"I was really happy to get the chance to play and I really hope to play more games now. "It's difficult to speak about not playing. But the fact is I have a three-year contract here. I'm patient." While not overly enthralled by the Reds' display against Steaua, Jovanovic was glad they were able to secure qualification to the next round. "We didn't play that well but we got the result we needed and that is all that matters," he added. "I think a draw was about fair. It was a really hard game for us. Qualification was at stake and we have achieved our goal."
