Espanyol president Daniel Sanchez Llibre has rejected talk that Luis Garcia is close to sealing a move to Tottenham.
Widespread reports earlier this week claimed Tottenham were closing in on the signature of the Spanish international after holding talks with Espanyol.
However, Sanchez Llibre says Espanyol have yet to receive any offers for the attacker.
"There has been much discussion in recent days, but the club has not received any offers for this player," Sanchez Llibre told the Spanish press.
"We haven't spoken to anyone, and for me the bid is only genuine if a club gets in touch with us directly.
"If everything that came out in the media happened then virtually the entire squad would be sold."
Garcia's agent Julio Prieto was remaining coy on the speculation saying: "The decision rests with the clubs."
