Charles Itandje is willing to be patient for his chance at Liverpool, despite acknowledging his frustration at the situation.
The French keeper moved to Anfield from Lens in the summer and has been providing the back-up to No.1 Jose Reina.
Itandje has started twice in the Carling Cup and concedes it is taking time to become accustomed to not playing regularly.
"The fact I don't play is not easy to experience," Itandje told L'Equipe. "The most frustrating thing is to wait and never know when you will play.
"But I knew that when I signed here. I have to be patient.
No regrets
"The first step was to adapt to a new country, a new language and a new league.
"Of course, at a certain time, if you don't play, you have to ask yourself the right questions, but it is not topical.
"A lot of people advised me against coming to Liverpool, saying I will never play.
"Do I have any regrets? I would be mad. There are people unemployed, and I am at Liverpool. I am enjoying every minute I get."
Itandje is expected to step in for Reina for Wednesday's Carling Cup quarter-final at Chelsea, live on Sky Sports 1.
