Shay Given is not concerned by speculation linking Newcastle with a bid for Bolton keeper Jussi Jaaskelainen.

Newcastle keeper aims to focus on his own game

Shay Given is not concerned by speculation linking Newcastle United with a move for Bolton Wanderers goalkeeper Jussi Jaaskelainen. Reports have claimed that former Bolton boss Sam Allardyce is looking to bring Jaaskelainen to St James' Park in January. Jaaskelainen is out of contract at the end of the season, and is also rumoured to be a target for Arsenal and Internazionale. But current Newcastle No.1 Given admits that he, and back-up Steve Harper, are not worried by the possible arrival of the Finn.

Heard it all before

"Of course both Steve Harper and myself have heard all the talk about Jussi coming here," Given told the Evening Chronicle. "But don't forget that both Steve and myself have been at St James' Park a long time and we have heard all this talk and speculation before. "I know what I can do, and that's what I will be concentrating on and I am sure Steve Harper feels the same." Meanwhile, Espanyol striker Luis Garcia is also rumoured to be a winter transfer target of Allardyce as the Magpies boss looks to lift his side up the table. Espanyol sporting director Sebastian Javier is quoted in the News of the World as saying: "We are still to receive a formal proposition, but the objective is for January. "We do not want Luis to go, but will study the matter."
