Gary Megson is yet to discuss whether on-loan midfielder Danny Guthrie will have a long-term future at Bolton Wanderers.
Guthrie is spending the season on loan at the Reebok Stadium from Liverpool and has made 12 appearances in all competitions.
He has impressed in recent weeks, with reports suggesting Megson will look to make the move permanent in January.
The Trotters boss has been satisfied with the youngster's progress in recent weeks and is likely to hold talks in the near future.
"We haven't yet got to the stage where we have sat down with the player or Liverpool," said Megson in the News of the World.
"But he is doing particularly well for us.
"He has now got himself into a more central position where he is happier. He has got to keep that improvement going."
