Liverpool goalkeeper Jose Reina has played down talk linking him with a move back to Spain.

Despite having firmly established himself as first choice in Liverpool's goal, Reina has persistently been linked with a move to Valencia.

Whilst speculation refuses to go away, Reina is adamant that his long-term future lies at Anfield.

"As the manager keeps saying, we don't know where these stories begin," said Reina.

"I'm really happy here at Liverpool. It's a big club and I have a good relationship with all the people. I have two-and-a-half years left of my contract, so I'm in no hurry.

"I don't know if now is the right time to be talking about a contract because I like to focus just on the games. There will be plenty of time to do this.

"I'm not homesick. Obviously there are things in Spain we all miss because our family and friends are all back there, but that's normal. There are things which are not the same, but that's what you expect as a footballer."

Meanwhile, Liverpool defender Daniel Agger is determined to establish himself as one of the best defenders in the world at Anfield.

Agger has impressed at Liverpool this season and he is keen to continue his progress.

"I want to make a name for myself," Agger told Tipsbladet.

"When I joined the club, I knew they had two world-class defenders.

"I was ready to fight for my place, but I knew I could learn much for them.

"If you learn from the best, you can also become one of the best.

"I know I have got my own playing style and that's why Liverpool bought me, but I try to take the best from their style and combine it with mine."
