Liverpool defender Stephen Warnock has admitted Blackburn tried to sign him before the close of the transfer window.
Blackburn enquired about signing Warnock as part of a swap for Liverpool target Lucas Neill.
However, neither deal materialised with Reds boss Rafa Benitez unwilling to let Warnock move on.
Warnock, who has started the last two games in the absence of the injured John Arne Riise, insists he was happy that the move never happened.
"On the day it happened, the manager told me Blackburn were trying to arrange a swap, but made it clear he wouldn't agree to it," said Warnock.
"As it was getting towards midnight there was always that doubt you may get a phone call saying it's back on, but I was happy it never came."
