Deportivo La Coruna have completed the signing of Barcelona youngster Rodri, who joins the Galicians on a four-year deal.
The 21-year-old, who plays at centre back, arrives on a free transfer having been released from his contract by Barca.
However, the Catalans have inserted a buy-back option into the transfer meaning they will have the opportunity to buy him at the end of the next two seasons should he impress at Depor.
A product of Barca's youth system, Rodri has been on the fringe of the first-team picture for the past couple years but has failed to claim a starting berth.
As a result he has now opted for a fresh challenge and is excited by the prospect of his move to The Riazor.
"It's a very important jump because there was no place for me at Barcelona and I come to Deportivo with a lot of excitement and desire and with the intention of impressing," he stated.
Meanwhile, Deportivo are looking to wrap up the signing of Liverpool's Antonio Barragan next week with president Augusto Cesar Lendoiro insisting the agreement between the two clubs is total.
Lendoiro is also hopeful of landing Racing Santander goalkeeper Dudu Awat, but was quick to play down talk of a move for Real Madrid's Alvaro Arbeloa insisting "there is nothing to report".
