Liga outfit Deportivo La Coruna have clarified that Antonio Barragan's move from Liverpool has not yet been rubberstamped.
A deal has been verbally agreed for The Reds youngster to the value of é¼2.5 million (£1.7 million), but the transfer has not been formally finalised.
Barragan was signed from Sevilla last summer but made just one appearance for Rafa Benitez's men, and is now on the brink of returning to his homeland.
Despite earlier reports that a deal had been done and dusted, the Spanish side have now admitted they are still waiting on official confirmation before the young defender can officially be unveiled as Depor's latest signing.
"There is a verbal agreement between the three parties," president Augusto Cesar Lendoiro told the club's official website.
"We still need to put it on paper before the deal is done."
Lendoiro also revealed that the club are close to completing the signing of Valencia's Uruguayan international Fabian Estoyanoff, who spent last season on loan at Cadiz.
