Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez says he expects to have injury-stricken midfielder Mohamed Sissoko back in training soon.The Malian midfielder was left nursing a dangerous injury after the 1-0 defeat to Benfica as he damaged the retina in his right eye after a clash with Beto.
Initial reports that the summer signing from Valencia could suffer vision loss led to worries that the blow could be career threatening.
However Benitez has now followed Reds chief executive Rick Parry in expressing his belief that the injury is not as serious as first thought.
Indeed the Spaniard went as far as to suggest that the midfielder could return to training soon, as he spoke at the club's AGM.
"The first check was bad news, now it is more positive for Momo," said Benitez.
"We are now awaiting another opinion but I expect and hope to see him back training with us soon."
