West Bromwich Albion goalkeeper Tomasz Kuszczak says he will continue to press for a place in Poland's World Cup squad.
The 23-year-old has been in superb form since claiming the Baggies number one jersey from on-loan custodian Chris Kirkland.
The former Hertha Berlin shot-stopper turned heads last Sunday when he made one of the saves of the Premiership season to earn West Brom a vital 1-0 win at Wigan Athletic.
His form has surely improved his chances of making Pawel Janas's squad for Germany this summer, while hampering Kirkland's hopes of being in the reckoning for Sven Goran Eriksson's England World Cup squad.
"It is strange that we are at the same club and in the same situation," Kuszczak said.
"We both must try to play to be at the World Cup.
"I know Chris is a great keeper, but I think I'm a good goalkeeper too and will fight for the place."
Kuszczak will hope to earn a call-up for Poland's friendly with the USA in Kaiserslautern, Germany, on March 1.
