Florent Sinama-Pongolle is a man in demand as the transfer window prepares to swing open in January.

Nice have already admitted making an enquiry for the Liverpool forward while Nancy are also rumoured to be keen on acquiring the Frenchman on loan.

Sources across The Channel also claim Manchester City boss Stuart Pearce is interested in striking an agreement with Reds manager Rafa Benitez to bring the 21-year-old to Eastlands on a temporary basis.

City's striking partnership of Andy Cole and Darius Vassell is one of the best in The Premiership, but Sinama-Pongolle could be viewed as a wide option or an impact player coming off the bench.

Real Betis have previously thrown their hat into the ring for his services but Benitez insisted the player would not be allowed to join the Seville-based club.

Nancy are reportedly monitoring both the Liverpool youngster and team-mate Anthony Le Tallec, who is currently on loan at Sunderland.
