Buffon in confident mood

Gianluigi Buffon is in confident mood ahead of Tuesday's UEFA Champions League clash with Liverpool.

The Italy international believes Juventus hold an advantage over their English counterparts, who are currently experiencing crippling injury worries.

Juve are firm favourites to progress, with Buffon of the belief that his team-mates will rise to the challenge, in what will be an emotional reunion between the two clubs.

''This one will be a really important match but we have the habit of rising to this type of challenge,'' said Buffon.

''Liverpool are facing a few problems due to their absentees and we will have to take advantage of this to obtain a favourable result in the first leg.

''Then, we won't have problems in the second one.''

Juventus are expected to be boosted by the return of Pavel Nedved after a lengthy spell on the sidelines, but it is likely David Trezeguet will have to content himself with a place on the bench.
