Liverpool ace Harry Kewell is hoping to finally get to the bottom of his recent injury problems.

The Australian international has been struggling with a series of injuries for some time and he has been ruled out of Wednesday's crucial UEFA Champions League clash with Bayer Leverkusen.

Kewell's fitness has been a subject of debate for Reds boss Rafa Benitez with the Spaniard in the dark over the cause for his injury problems.

"One day Harry is okay, and the next he says he is unfit," said Benitez.

"We will talk with the doctor and try and look at his situation. We don't know exactly what the problem is. It changes each day.

"One day he says it's the groin; then it's the ankle. Another day he says he can play. We need to find the solution to this."

Kewell is confident that he will be able to resolve his injury problems soon to be available for selection.

"We are working together to see the right people and hopefully I'll be on the pitch soon," Kewell told Sky Sports News.

"We are doing everything to get it right and it is just a matter of time now."

Kewell is disappointed he is missing the trip to Leverkusen, but is confident his team-mates can finish the job of to seal a place in the quarter finals.

"We lost the Carling Cup final, but we have still got the Champions League," added Kewell.

"We have a good lead going into the game and we know what we have got to do and I am quite sure we can do it.

"If you would have said at the start of the first leg we would be leading 3-1 everyone would have taken that happily and I am sure the boys can finish the job off."
