Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez has confirmed Luis Garcia faces a month out of action.

The Spaniard joined the casualty list at Anfield after picking up a hamstring injury in the UEFA Champions League defeat to Monaco on Tuesday.

Garcia pulled up after just two minutes of the clash at Stade Louis II with the problem and was forced off.

"It's a hamstring injury and so we would expect to lose Luis now for three to four weeks," said Benitez.

"We're not having much luck at the moment, are we?" said the boss. "We need that to change."

The news is a blow to Benitez as his attacking options have already been severely limited by injuries to Milan Baros, Djibril Cisse and Vladimir Smicer.

Reds defender Djimi Traore also faces a spell on the sidelines after picking up a knee knock.
