Several French clubs have expressed an interest in taking Liverpool playmaker Anthony Le Tallec for the coming season - with The Reds hoping to seal a loan deal for their youngster.

Liverpool's new boss Rafa Benitez recognises the promise shown by Le Tallec, but is believed to favour loaning the player out to garner experience.

Le Tallec has made 25 appearances for Liverpool since moving from Le Havre - scoring five goals.

St Etienne and Lens are believed to be leading the chase for the midfielder, with the latter likely to lose Dagui Bakari to Spurs this summer.

However, Sochaux are the latest club to be linked with the 19-year-old, as they look to build for the coming season.
