France have a whole host of injuries to contend with ahead of their friendly with Holland in Rotterdam on Wednesday.

Liverpool's Bruno Cheyrou has been called into the squad after Arsenal duo Robert Pires and Patrick Vieira withdrew ahead of their FA Cup semi-final engagement with Manchester United on Saturday.

Vieira was nominated Sky's man of the match after helping The Gunners take another stride towards the title with a 1-1 draw with United at Highbury on Sunday, while Pires played his part before being substituted in the closing stages.

However, both men have been declared unfit for the Dutch clash with Sochaux midfielder Benoit Pedretti and Sidney Govou of Lyon being introduced to cover their absence.

Cheyrou has also been handed a call-up as Marseille striker Steve Marlet misses out through injury and there is also a fresh doubt over Real Madrid's midfield marvel Zinedine Zidane.

The Bernabeu pass master appeared to suffer from a problem with his thigh during the convincing 5-1 slaughter of Sevilla on Sunday, and Jacques Santini will be anxiously awaiting an update regarding his fitness.
