AGENT Hakan Azman has angrily slammed the Turkish television station that broadcast quotes suggesting Hasan Sas would be joining Internazionale this week.

The Turkish news programme broadcast quotes reportedly from Internazionale sports director Gabriele Oriali suggesting that the club were on the verge of snapping up the World Cup star.

However, an angry Azman exclusively told planetfootball that the quotes were 'rubbish' and generated purely to boost ratings for the television station.

"I know Oriali very well and Inter and I have called them today to be assured the statements are rubbish,' said an apoplectic Azman.

"Independent news, the programme that run this, are cheating the people.

"They are simply generating this news for the ratings.

"The quotes are rubbish, complete rubbish.

"In Turkey the media are not as honest as in England."

Azman also talked about the situation at the club, which has seen Sas dropped from the side recently.

The agent feels that the club are merely punishing the player for not signing a new deal, knowing that he could leave for nothing in the summer.

"He didn't sign a new contract and he will be free at the end of the season.

"The club are simply punishing him for this - it is normal for them to take this kind of decision.

"At the end of the season he will have a lot of clubs in for him and I would hope to get him a very good contract.

"First we will se if Galatasaray's offer is acceptable - but if this isn't the case then he will look to Europe.

"Liverpool desperately wanted him at the beginning of the season.

"They were prepared to fork out a transfer fee rather than wait.

"At the beginning of the season he was feeling very patriotic and high, following the World Cup, and he wanted to stay in Turkey and see out his contract."
