MONACO chairman Jean-Louis Campora has dismissed reports linking Ludovic Giuly with a possible move to Liverpool.

Reports in France last weekend claimed that Liverpool boss Gerard Houllier was preparing a move for the winger when the transfer window re-opens in January.

It was suggested that Houllier had targeted the French international as the player to help Liverpool out of their current slump, but Campora insists he has had no contact with Houllier over Giuly.

"It is not topical," Campora told France Football. "Two or three agents called me to ask if we want to sell. I told them no.

"Except that, I didn't get any call.

"I know Gerard Houllier very well. When we transferred (John Arne)Riise, he called me directly.

"It would be the same if he wants Giuly. And he didn't call me.

"So, all those rumours are usual manoeuvres from agents and people who want to harm the club."

Campora also revealed he would not leave the club until he has found a suitable buyer.

Campora has put his stake in the club up for sale after running into serious financial difficulty, but despite the cash crisis the Monaco chief has no plans to sell any players to raise funds.

"We are looking for a buyer to keep the AS Monaco ambition," added Campora. "We want to keep our best players, even try to reinforce the team to play at the top of the ranking.

"I always stated I will leave in time, when the club's future will be ensured.

"We have started talks again with two groups we already talked with for about two months.

"They were an Italian group and a German group. For one week, I am also trying to find firms in Monaco.

"We are talking about sums around ‚é¼100 million, the price we set for the ASM trademark.

"We have to find investors before February. I have the whole month of January."
