Portugal name finals squad

MIDFIELD stars Luis Figo and Rui Costa have been included Antonio Oliveira's 23-man squad for the World Cup, despite carrying injuries.

Real Madrid star Figo is struggling with an ankle injury while Milan ace Rui Costa has saw his season ravaged by series of problems.

Oliveira is confident that the key duo will be fit to play in the Far East.

Portugal have also handed a shock call-up to previously uncapped Maritmo midfielder Daniel Kenedy due to injuries to Simao Sabrosa and Luis Boa Morte.

"Kenedy is in excellent form," said Oliveira."After looking carefully at our qualifying performances and our exhibition games, we decided the left side of the midfield might be weak."

Braga goalkeeper Joaquim "Quim" Silva is left out despite his three-month ban after testing positive for nandrolone ending this week

Benfica star Marco Caneira, is another surprise name in the final selection having previously won just one cap.
