GALATASARAY stars Bulent Akin and Ergun Penbe could be heading for shock moves to England.

Both players have attracted interest from Premiership clubs after some impressive performances for Turkey, and surprise deals could be in the pipeline.

According to planetfootball.com's Istanbul sources, Bulent (pictured) has received an offer from a "famous" English club with Liverpool and Newcastle United forwarded as possible destinations for the talented midfielder.

Galatasaray director Abdurrahim Albayrak has confirmed that two representatives from the club in question will travel to Istanbul to discuss details of a transfer.

The same club is also keen on the 23-year-old's team-mate Ergun, but their trip is specifically to talk terms over a deal for Bulent.

After splashing out $8.5 million on Bulent, Galatasaray will not want to sell their midfield man cheaply, even though he has struggled to show his best form for the side. Indeed, he was offered a two-year extension to his present contract in December.

Gheorge Hagi brought the player to the club, and believes he can be the man to fill his shoes in the playmaker role.

Ergun is determined to clinch a move to England, and his wife is also believed to be keen to make a switch to the United Kingdom.

"I want to play in England," said the 29-year-old midfielder.

"If I leave, I have to move to a bigger club so this club must be word-class.

"If I do go, I want Galatasaray to earn money from my transfer."

Ergun has previously revealed that Everton and Newcastle have been watching him in action.

Meanwhile, Galatasaray have offered Hakan Unsal a new contract in a bid to prevent him joining French side Lens.
