LIVERPOOL goalkeeper Brad Friedel has been refused a loan move to Norwegian champions Rosenborg.
Friedel signed for The Reds just over two years ago but has played just 25 times in this period and at the moment the 28-year-old American is very much second-choice behind Sander Westerveld.
The Merseyside club were unwilling to let Friedel go though saying: "Rosenborg wanted to take Brad Friedel on loan but the club said that wasn`t possible."
Rosenborg are desperate to sign a goalkeeper before the Champions League transfer deadline on January 31st and failed in a bid for Tottenham reserve keeper Espen Baardsen last week.
The Reds also denied reports suggesting Brian Kidd may join the Anfield coaching staff saying: "There is absolutely no truth in the story whatsoever."
