LIVERPOOL outcast Brad Friedel is reportedly being tracked by Premiership strugglers Sheffield Wednesday.

The American star has seen his first-team opportunities at Anfield look increasingly bleak with Sander Westerveld joining the Reds in the summer and improving with every game.

Friedel has only played two games thus far this season and that was only because Westerveld was serving a ban after he was sent-off in his side`s derby clash with Everton for fighing with Francis Jeffers.

Friedel has 18 months of his present contract to run but is likely to leave sooner due to restrictions on work permits for non-European Union players.

Wednesday are currently undecided on their number one keeper with Kevin Pressman and Pavel Srnicek failing to impress for the Premiership`s bottom side this term.

Pressman has conceded 27 goals already this season while Srnicek has let 13 past him.
