Tammy Abraham scored twice as Chelsea beat Manchester City 3-1 in the first leg of the FA Youth Cup final at the Etihad Campus.

Chelsea are the current holders of the competition and will told a two-goal advantage when they head to London for the second leg at Stamford Bridge next week.

The young Blues grabbed the lead after seven minutes when Abraham chested the ball down and battered home his 35th goal of the season from just inside the box.

Their lead lasted just two minutes when Brandon Barker danced past a couple of tackles before playing in Isaac Buckley-Ricketts who calmly slotted the ball beyond the keeper and into the bottom corner of the net.

Chelsea, who recently beat Shakhtar Donetsk to be crowned UEFA Youth League champions, went back in front for a second time when City were unable to clear a corner and Abraham acrobatically fired in his second goal of the game from seven yards out.

City pressed in search of an equaliser but it was Chelsea who snatched a third when Dominic Solanke took his tally to 35 for the season with a tidy finish late in the game.

The second leg of the final will take place next Monday (April 27) at Stamford Bridge.
