Didier Drogba has told his Chelsea team-mates victory is the only thing that matters in Sunday’s Capital One Cup final against Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley.

Chelsea lost 2-1 when the London rivals met in the 2008 League Cup final after Drogba had opened the scoring, one of nine goals the striker has in major finals for his club.

And Drogba says the feeling of losing a final will remain with the Chelsea players for a long time.

“This one is important because after two years I come back to the club and once again we are in a final, so I would love to win it,” he told Sky Sports News.

“Once you get there it is important to make sure you win and then after the game you have the good feeling of a champion.

“When you lose, you always remember it forever, like the one against Manchester United in Moscow or against Tottenham in 2008. I have experienced the feeling of losing finals before, so I am scared to lose finals and maybe that is why I give everything.”

However, Drogba denied Chelsea would be motivated by revenge this weekend.

“There is no feeling of revenge after seven years – they deserved to win that day and I hope that Sunday is going to be different,” he added.
