Chelsea chief executive Ron Gourlay has admitted there could be more movement in and out of the club before Monday's transfer deadline.

The Blues have been busy bolstering their squad this summer and brought in another attacking option on Thursday as Samuel Eto'o signed from Anzhi Makhachkala.

He is the second player to have joined from the Russian club this week following the earlier arrival of Willian, but Gourlay says the spending may not stop there.

Speaking about Eto'o after the draw for the group stage of the Champions League had been made in Monaco, Gourlay told Sky Sports News: "It's a very good signing for the club.

"We have always said we are always looking to strengthen, but it's all about the right players being available at the right time.

"Samuel was available and I think he just adds some experience to the players we already have around us."

Gourlay would not comment on whether the deal for Eto'o meant that Wayne Rooney would definitely not now be signed from Manchester United, but reiterated that there might be an addition or two before the window closes.

He insisted Jose Mourinho was satisfied with his current squad and would not have too many complaints if there was no more business, but admitted a couple of players could be loaned out.

Asked about further signings, he said: "We are always looking to strengthen the team and there could be one, maybe two, but we are looking at a couple maybe going out on loan to continue their development as we have a fairly big squad.

"I would expect maybe a little bit of activity in the next couple of days before the window closes, but the coach is very happy with the squad that he has at this present time, so if this is the squad we continue with for the rest of the season then it will be all good."
