Petr Cech believes Oscar answered all the questions about his £25million price tag with his wonder goal against Juventus in the UEFA Champions League.
The Brazilian marked his full debut for the defending kings of Europe by scoring a brace on Wednesday night at Stamford Bridge and the second was a stunning 25-yard effort.
Chelsea ultimately threw away their two-goal lead as Italian champions Juventus fought back for a 2-2 draw.
But goalkeeper Cech is still full of praise for Oscar and thinks the 21-year-old July signing from Internacional has fully demonstrated his ability.
"Congratulations to him," Cech told his official website. "I am very glad he scored the goals. He is a young lad who just turned 21 and he came to Chelsea for big money.
"It is not easy to arrive at such a big club at his age. Moreover, he was at the Olympics so he missed a big part of the pre-season preparation.
"Everyone wants to know why Chelsea paid so much money for such a young player. And he gave an answer to everyone.
"He is playing enormously effectively and straightforwardly, one or two touches on the ball.
"He is free for other players to give him a pass all the time and he is immensely disciplined. He played a great game and the two goals were the icing on the cake."
Cech is also refusing to panic about Chelsea drawing against Juventus from such a dominant position as they look ahead to games against Nordsjaelland and Shakhtar Donetsk in Group E.
"Only time will show us if this was a gained point or two points dropped," he said. "It is better to begin with a point than zero points.
"Obviously, we wanted three points, though, and it makes me sad we gave away the 2-0 lead in such way."
