Chelsea boss Roberto Di Matteo admitted he felt deflated after seeing his side surrender a two-goal lead against Juventus.

A brilliant brace from Oscar before the break looked to have given the Blues three UEFA Champions League points at Stamford Bridge.

But a first-half strike from Arturo Vidal followed by Fabio Quagliarella's equaliser with 10 minutes remaining gave the Italian champions a 2-2 draw in Group E.

Despite acknowledging that the visitors deserved their draw, Di Matteo could not hide his disappointment at dropping two points late on.

"It was a very good football game and both teams could have won it," he told Sky Sports.

"We had chances with a third goal to close the game but I think it was probably a deserved draw.

"We found ourselves in a great position to win the game and we only got a draw but we knew we were playing a quality side who have a lot of good players.

"We feel a little deflated because we were ahead but it's going to be a tough group and we get on to the next game now."

A huge positive for the European champions was the performance of new signing Oscar on his full Chelsea debut and Di Matteo hailed a wonderful display from the 20-year-old midfielder.

He added: "We were just waiting for the right game for him, it was wonderful to watch. The second goal was fantastic."
