Napoli cannot afford defender's wages, insists agent

Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic has no intention of leaving Stamford Bridge this summer, according to his agent. The Serbia international, who helped the Blues to UEFA Champions League glory this season, has been linked with a move away from the club. Serie A side Napoli are thought to be targeting the 28-year-old, while Real Madrid are also believed to be keen on the stopper. Ivanovic, who has become a regular in the Blues' back four since his £9million move to West London from Lokomotiv Moscow in January 2008, is contracted at Chelsea until the summer of 2016. His agent, Vlado Borozan, insists the defender will not leave during this transfer window and believes Napoli cannot afford his client's wages. "Ivanovic extended his contract until 2016 and wants to meet the terms of that deal," Borozan told Tuttosport newspaper. "Chelsea want to keep him and he has no plans to leave the club, and I don't know if his wages would be within the economic reach of Napoli."
