Striker highlights significance of Kalou strike

Didier Drogba has highlighted the importance Chelsea's away goal could prove in their Champions League quarter-final with Benfica. The Ivory Coast international was an unused substitute in the 1-0 win at the Estadio da Luz, with Fernando Torres preferred in attack. The Spaniard helped create the chance for Salomon Kalou to score the game's only goal, and Drogba says it was a great result for the team. "It is a great result," the 34-year-old told L'Equipe. "The most important thing is that we have scored that goal away from home. "But we have a lot of respect for Benfica. We will take the return leg very seriously." The comments are in stark contrast to Drogba's supposed dismissal of the Portuguese side's chances in a video published on Chelsea's official website before the game. Benfica boss Jorge Jesus said that whilst he striker was "probably just joking," he warned him to dismiss the Lisbon club at his peril.
