Ivory Coast breathed a sigh of relief after tests revealed Salomon Kalou has not suffered any serious injury to his knee. Kalou limped off midway through the second half as his side went on to claim a 2-0 win over Burkina Faso and there were fears his injury might have been serious. Ivory Coast manager Francois Zaoui was immediately concerned over Kalou's fitness after the game, having seen him open up the scoring.

Worried

"We're worried that he's suffered a strain or tear because he pulled up so suddenly," said Zaoui. But the Chelsea attacker has been given the green light to continue in this tournament after tests discovered no tears. "It was more of a scare than any damage, Kalou felt pain behind the thigh but it's not a hamstring or tear," Ivory Coast's press officer told AFP.
