Fernando Torres insists he is looking no further ahead than Chelsea's crunch clash with Manchester United on Sunday.
The top two meet at Old Trafford this weekend, with United just three points ahead in the Premier League with three games remaining following their defeat at Arsenal last time out.
Victory over the Red Devils would see Chelsea reclaim pole position on goal difference for the first time since November ahead of concluding games against Newcastle and Everton.
But Spain international Torres insists the Blues must concentrate on completing the task in hand before worrying about what might happen after they leave Manchester.
The £50m striker told Chelsea TV: "The first step is to win against Manchester United and after we know they have the power to score a lot of goals in the two games they have to play, the same as Chelsea.
"So the first step is to win against Man U and then we will see what we have to do later."
Torres admits Chelsea's home clash against Newcastle next weekend could give their title push a boost, adding: "We have one game at home and I am sure with the help of the supporters we can win the game, hopefully scoring some goals, and maybe that makes the difference."
Carlo Ancelotti's men have found form at the right time for a late title surge, following a testing spell which looked to have seen their hopes of defending their Premier League crown ended.
"The main thing is to believe. If you believe in football you never know what can happen," said Torres, who has finally broken his goal drought since moving from Liverpool in January.
"We have again the possibility to win the title, but to win against Man United away is never easy, it is one of the hardest places to win.
"However, we have that chance and we have to go there with the mentality that we can win.
"We are in the position we wanted to be right now.
"It is not only one game we have to win, after we have two more games, but if we can beat Manchester United and reach the top of the table the confidence will be so high."
