Pilgrims eyeing Clifford stay

Plymouth Argyle manager Peter Reid is hopeful he can extend the loan spell of Chelsea midfielder Conor Clifford.

The 19 year-old has impressed in his five appearances for Argyle since arriving at Home Park and Reid is currently trying to thrash out a deal with Chelsea's director of football Frank Arnesen to keep the player at the club for longer. "I have spoken to Frank Arnesen and hopefully I will speak to him in the next couple of days," he told the Plymouth Herald. "I have had a chat with the boy and I think he has enjoyed it with us. Hopefully, we can sort something out in the next few days. I don't want to say 'yes' or 'no' but I think there is a chance."
