Full-back keen to end his career at Stamford Bridge

Paulo Ferreira has admitted that he hopes to see out his playing days at current employers Chelsea. The Portuguese full-back is under contract at Stamford Bridge for another three years and fully intends to see that deal through. That contract will take him past his 34th birthday and see him rack up nine years service with the Blues in the process. Ferreira feels he would then be wise to call it a day, with little left for him to achieve in a distinguished career. "I have a deal with Chelsea that runs until 2013 and my idea is to see that out and to then leave football, but this sport is unpredictable," he told Maisfutebol. "If I finish that deal I will be 34 and it is difficult to find another club then, so this has always been my intention since I signed the deal (in 2008). "Rumours about a possible exit were false as I have always considered Chelsea to be my home as I have always had great support here. "I am a player that has always given his all to his club, at Porto and here. I am a professional in all aspects. When I am able to look back on my career I will be content. "I have been able to win many important titles and I am happy with what I have achieved."

Dream

While Ferreira has enjoyed considerable success at domestic level, international glory has eluded him. He is, however, keen to put that right at this summer's World Cup and hopes he will be named in Carlos Queiroz's squad heading for South Africa. "With Portugal I really want to win a title," he added. "We were very close at the Euros in Portugal and did excellently at the 2002 World Cup. "My dream now is to make the final list for the national team and to play wherever I am required."
