Carlisle United boss Greg Abbott is hoping to extend the loan deals of both Tom Taiwo and Adam Clayton, with both having impressed since joining the club.
The Cumbrians are unbeaten in six and are quietly climbing the League One table, with the Chelsea starlet and the Manchester City midfielder playing key roles in their progress.
Both players are set to return to their respective clubs in January, and Taiwo has been targeted by a number of Championship sides, but Abbott is keen to keep the pair at Brunton Park.
"We are looking at getting results on the table and when you start doing that then other clubs start to have a look at the players at your disposal," he told skysports.com.
"Both Tom and Adam have done exceptionally well since joining us and we have had preliminary talks with their clubs about extending their stay with us.
"Both are enjoying the chance to play regular first-team football at this level and we are hopeful of extending their stay beyond January, but that is something to deal with later this month."
The Cumbrians sit just seven points off the play-off paces at the moment, but Abbott insists he will remain a happy man if his side continue to play the way they have been in recent weeks.
"Our performances lately have been brilliant and we seem to be improving game after game, so as long as that continues then I'll be a happy man," he said.
"We've just got to make sure that the players continue to play in the same vein and hopefully results will keep coming our way."
