Fiorentina are in talks to sign Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic, according to the player's agent.
Ivanovic has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge for some time after failing to establish himself in the side.
The 24-year-old has struggled to make an impression since his arrival from Lokomotiv Moscow last January and he is thought to be keen on a move away in search of regular first-team action.
Manchester City and Inter Milan have been credited with an interest in Ivanovic, but Fiorentina are now thought to be leading the chase for the central defender with sporting director Pantaleo Corvino in talks with the player's agent.
The Serbian's agent Vlado Borozan claims the player is keen on a move to Florence and that he is hopeful a deal can be done.
"We are working. There is the will to end the negotiation, but it's not done," Borozan told Mediaset."
Borozan claims Fiorentina could offer Manuel Da Costa in a swap deal with Ivanovic, with Blues boss Luiz Felipe Scolari thought to be an admirer of the Portuguese defender.
"Corvino has a big idea including Da Costa in the negotiation knowing Scolari appreciates the player," added Borozan.
