Napoli insist Ezequiel Lavezzi will not be leaving the club as the striker's agent seeks a new deal.

Striker's demands for new deal unlikely to be met just yet

Napoli insist Ezequiel Lavezzi will not be leaving the club as the striker's agent seeks a new contract. Lavezzi has been linked with Chelsea after the Argentine impressed in Serie A during the past 18 months. He has stated that he is happy in Naples and is not looking to move to the Premier League, with the club's president Aurelio De Laurentiis insisting there will be no sale, or new contract. "Lavezzi will remain with us until 2013 and then we will see," said De Laurentiis. "Whoever is on my side is fine. Those who are cannot go to England. I will find another 10 players like them."

Proved himself

However, the forward's agent Eduardo Rossetto has called on De Laurentiis to improve his contract after he proved his ability in Serie A. "When he arrived at Napoli, Lavezzi had to prove himself," he said. "He has done more than what was expected of him. "Now he only demands what he is worth, not more, not less. "I am certain we will find an agreement with De Laurentiis, who is an intelligent person. "It's true that the player wants to remain at Napoli and that is why we are willing to turn down offers of five and six million euros. "If Napoli change their mind, it will not be a problem and we will find another path."
