Brendan Rodgers has returned to former club Chelsea to make his first signing as Watford manager.
The ex-Chelsea reserve-team coach has snapped up teenage midfielder Liam Bridcutt on a one-month loan deal.
Bridcutt is the skipper of the Blues' second-string side, although he is yet to make his first-team debut for the Premier League leaders.
He can also play at full-back and spent a spell on loan at Yeovil Town last season, making nine appearances for the League One club.
The 19-year-old will be in contention to make his bow for Watford on Saturday at home to fellow Championship strugglers Doncaster Rovers.
