Michael Mancienne has admitted it is a dream come true to be called up to the senior England squad to face Germany.
The Chelsea defender, who is currently on loan at Championship club Wolves, was a surprise inclusion in Fabio Capello's 23-man squad on Saturday night.
Mancienne has yet to make a Premier League appearance but is eagerly anticipating the chance to impress when England locks horns with Germany in Berlin on Wednesday.
"It has been one of my dreams to represent my country at the highest level, just to be involved in the squad is great," Mancienne told Sky Sports News.
"Having some of the other Chelsea lads in the squad as well will be a real boost for me.
"It is always good to know people - it will be wicked."
"I grew as a footballer when I was on loan and developed an understanding of the game. I've been in relegation battles and my experiences have improved me."
Mancienne went on to praise his time under England Under 21 manager Stuart Pearce.
He said: "I've found working with Stuart Pearce very good, he's understanding and easy to talk to - he always gives an honest opinion," Mancienne said.
"If he sees something not right, he'll talk to me and correct me. We've been wanting to do well for the manager."
