Salomon Kalou is confident that Chelsea will enjoy a successful season under new manager Luiz Felipe Scolari.
Avram Grant was dismissed at the end of last term despite leading the Blues to second place in the Premier League and the final of both the UEFA Champions League and Carling Cup.
Scolari has come in to replace Grant and Kalou has been impressed by the Brazilian tactician already.
Chelsea have been emphatic winners in their opening two pre-season friendlies and Kalou feels Scolari can lead the team to glory over the next 12 months.
"I have a very good impression of him," said the winger.
"He is a great trainer and I enjoy working with him and I believe we can do something big for Chelsea this year."
Kalou linked up with his Ivory Coast team-mates in Hong Kong at the weekend as Chelsea moved on to Malaysia for the final leg of their Asian tour.
He will play for his country in the Olympic Games next month and miss the start of the Premier League.
Kalou is looking forward to the event in Beijing and believes he will return to England in excellent condition.
"Playing competitive football will definitely help me for the new season as I am playing at a good level and I feel that when I arrive back in England I will be ready," he explained.
"The Olympics is something I have always wanted to play in.
"It is one of the biggest events of the year and if you see the names of players who are taking part you can see it is very important.
"I am starting to get used to the humidity now and I feel with some more training we will all be ready for the Olympics."
