Internazionale assistant coach Beppe Baresi has not given up hope of signing Frank Lampard.
The Italian giants have identified the Chelsea midfielder as one of their top transfer targets with new manager Jose Mourinho keen to be reunited with his former player.
They made an offer of £7.95million for Lampard on Tuesday but the Blues have since rejected the move.
According to Baresi, however, Inter are not yet ready to accept defeat in their pursuit of the England international.
"In all honesty I don't follow transfer rumours closely," Mourinho's number two told Radio Kiss Kiss.
"But I know that the possibility is still open."
Baresi also revealed that Inter would be doing their utmost to secure a deal for Roma star Amantino Mancini.
"Mancini? He is a player who interests Inter a lot and the club will continue to press to have him until the end," he said.
