Scunthorpe United have signed Shelton Martis on loan from West Bromwich Albion and extended the loan of Chelsea youngster Jack Cork.
Martis has headed to Glanford Park for a month after making just two appearances for West Brom since a summer move from Hibernian.
Though a permanent deal is not in the pipeline, Iron boss Nigel Adkins was happy to capture a player he has been chasing for some time.
"I had spoke to Tony Mowbray on several occasions and the January transfer window was always a time when something could be done," Adkins told the Scunthorpe Evening Telegraph.
Adkins has also agreed a deal to keep teenage midfielder Cork at the club until the end of the season.
Cork has made 17 appearances to date for Scunthorpe and is available to play in Saturday's FA Cup third round tie with Preston North End.
