Defender happy in Sevilla

Sevilla defender Daniel Alves has vowed to stay professional after failing to secure a transfer window switch to Chelsea.

The Brazil international had been keen on a move to Stamford Bridge, however, the clubs failed to agree a fee for his services.

Jose Mourinho's side instead landed Juliano Belletti from Barcelona for a fraction of the price.

Alves has expressed his disappointment at missing out on the chance to join The Blues, but is still happy at Sevilla.

"I had the intention of leaving because I had a great opportunity to set up the rest of my life, which is my priority," stated Alves.

"I and my family are very happy in Sevilla, where I have shown my professionalism during four-and-a-half years here.

"I have never said that I would be disappointed if I remained at Sevilla, I know that here there are many people who appreciate me and I am relaxed.

"I am going to try and continue showing the professional attitude which I have done, although it will be difficult because I have lost a unique opportunity."
