Claudio Pizarro claims Kalifa Cisse could have broken his leg during Chelsea's win over Reading on Wednesday.
Cisse saw red on his Reading debut for a second bookable offence following a foul on the striker in the second half.
Royals boss Steve Coppell suggested the Peruvian made a meal out of the midfielder's challenge.
However, Pizarro insists that is not the case and says he could have suffered a serious injury in the incident.
"Of course he kicked me. I pulled my leg away, if I had not pulled my leg at the end, he could break my leg," he said.
"I was lucky that at the end that I could pull my leg away. But I still had a big cut in my leg - you could see from my sock."
