Jose Mourinho has confirmed that he is trying to conclude a deal for Sevilla's Daniel Alves.
The Brazilian full-back is eager to seal a switch to Chelsea, but as yet the two clubs have not agreed terms.
Reports over the past week have stated that a deal has been thrashed out - but that is not yet the case.
However, Mourinho admits he does want to land the 24-year-old.
"We are trying to buy him but the situation is not done at this moment," said Mourinho.
"We will see what happens."
Sources in Spain have now suggested that Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is refusing to meet Sevilla's asking price of 32 millions euros (£21million) - instead offering 25 million euros (£16million).
