Manuel da Costa has confirmed that Chelsea have made a move to secure his services and he admitted a move to West London does appeal.

The highly-rated defender is currently with PSV Eindhoven - after moving from French side Nancy last summer.

Despite spending less than a season at The Philips Stadion, da Costa seems set to move on again - with Chelsea set to secure his signature.

As skysports.com reported earlier this week, Chelsea are believed to have struck a deal with PSV - whom they have a co-operation agreement with.

The Blues have already loaned defender Alcides to PSV after signing him from Benfica in January - and that move has seemingly smoothed the way for da Costa's departure this summer.

"There is contact between Chelsea and PSV," da Costa confirmed to Antenna 1.

Despite the impending deal, da Costa refused to be drawn into the matter any further.

"At the moment nobody has spoken with me so I am only thinking about PSV."

Da Costa can play anywhere along the back four and Chelsea coach Jose Mourinho looks to have made his decision to sign him, ahead of team-mate Alex - who is another player co-owned by The Blues.

Da Costa added that he would relish the prospect of moving to Stamford Bridge.

"Obviously I would like to represent a club like Chelsea but that would depend on the conditions," the player told Correio do Manha.

The 20-year-old admitted he would enjoy the chance to work with Mourinho.

‚Ç£He is a great trainer, one of the best ones of the world and obviously I would like to work with him," he added.

French-born da Costa also underlined his intention to play for Portugal at full international level.

He has already featured for Portugal at Under-21 level, but France still harboured hopes of persuading him to play for them.

"International is a window to show yourself and I cannot wait to represent Portugal," he said.

"They are one of the best teams in the world."
