QPR have been successful in their attempt to keep Chelsea youngster Michael Mancienne on loan for the remainder of the season.
The talented teenager has impressed since moving to Loftus Road in October but had been scheduled to return to Stamford Bridge on Tuesday.
Now Rangers boss John Gregory has expressed his delight at managing to retain the services of the England youth international.
"We're thrilled. Over the last three or four matches he's come on leaps and bounds and just keeps getting better and better," Gregory told the club's official website.
"He wears his heart on his sleeve and gives 110 per cent in everything he does.
"It remains to be seen what happens with Michael and Chelsea in the future, but all I know is that they're constantly monitoring him and they're happy with his progress."
Mancienne's Blues team-mate Jimmy Smith is also staying with Rangers until May, and Gregory has hinted he would be keen to keep both players on a longer deal.
"Michael and Jimmy will go back at the end of the season but what happens thereafter is dependent on Jose Mourinho and Chelsea football club," Gregory added.
