Real Madrid are closing in on a deal for Argentine starlet Fernando Gago, according to the player's agent.
The 19-year-old Boca Juniors midfielder has been linked with a move to England with Premiership champions Chelsea in the past.
But it seems Real's deal-makers are close to brokering a long-term agreement for the hot prospect to move to La Liga.
"Now we are all waiting for the final match between Boca and Estudiantes to be played on Wednesday to decide the Argentinean champions of the Torneo Apertura," Gago's agent Marcello Lombilla explained.
"After that, we all expect to end the negotiations between the clubs as soon as possible because the player's contract was agreed a long time ago.
"Gago will sign a six-and-a-half-year deal with Real Madrid."
Sources close to Boca suggest a deal could be reached for somewhere in the region of é¼20million (£13.5million) and Gago is expected to attend Real's tie with Espanyol on Sunday to mark the conclusion of talks.
