Wayne Bridge has capped a remarkable turnaround in his career by signing a new deal with Chelsea.
The classy full back looked set to leave Chelsea last term, as he struggled to establish himself in the side following a serious ankle injury and was farmed out on loan to Fulham.
He found his form at Craven Cottage and made a positive impression on Blues chief Jose Mourinho during the summer.
However, Chelsea's capture of Ashley Cole in the summer cast doubt over Bridge's future at the club once again.
The left back knuckled down, though, and his reward is a contract which ties him to Chelsea until the summer of 2010.
"I feel as though I'm playing well this season," Bridge told the club's website.
"I believe that I will continue to get opportunities. It's been a great week for me and I'm delighted to have signed."
