QPR boss John Gregory could be ready to bolster his squad by extending Michael Mancienne's loan spell and bringing in a player from overseas.
England Under-19 international Mancienne is due to play his last game of a loan spell from Chelsea on Friday night against Cardiff, but Gregory is keen to prolong his stay at Loftus Road.
The QPR chief has been impressed with the manner in which the youngster has adapted to Championship football and is eager for Chelsea to agree to his wish of an extension.
"His loan deal expires on Friday after the Cardiff City game," said Gregory.
"We will start negotiations on Friday and hopefully get things sorted before the next game (against Coventry).
"It's down to Chelsea really - it's a similar situation to that with (fellow Chelsea loanee) Jimmy Smith."
Meanwhile, reports from Scandinavia suggest QPR are close to agreeing a deal to bring Sampsa Timoska to the club in the next few days.
The 27-year-old Mypa defender has been watched by QPR in the past few weeks and if reports are to be believed, he could soon pitch up in The Championship.
